Rock Climbing
Rock ClimbingLeave the belay lesson for another day. Rock Climbing in Waterloo means bouldering at Grand River Rocks Waterloo on Lodge Street, the only local gym. Walls run about 13 feet, climbs go from beginner to advanced, and a visit is about $30. Stronger climbers get a moon board and campus boards, plus a training area with a cable machine, rowing machine and free weights.
Want ropes? Grand River Rocks Climbing Gym, a 3 km drive away in Kitchener on Victoria Street North, has top-rope, lead and auto-belay lines. With kids, try Funvilla Kitchener on Gage Avenue, 2 km away, where wall climbs cost extra on top of admission.
